Our Children Are Paying The Price for Our Apathy.
Sometimes you see things online that haunt you. You see images you can’t get out of your head— no matter how much you try. I was recently exposed to images of 5 babies that we’re murdered through abortion. These images are haunting. They are not the first images of abortion I’ve ever seen but they stand out. Some of these babies are fully formed and are well into the third trimester. Some look no bigger than my daughter when she was born. It is clear these babies were the victims of late term abortion or quite possibly post-birth abortion. They were the victims of murder.
You pair this grisly scene with the White House promoting genital mutilation for perfectly healthy kids and it becomes clear we are living in a wicked time. When faced with the evil of the world, I often think of how Jesus would respond. Especially when it comes to what’s happening to our children.
How would Jesus respond knowing our kids are addicted to pornography? How would he respond to the skyrocketing depression and suicide rates? What would he think of the drugs that claim the minds of the youth? How would Jesus respond to the predatory nature of social media platforms who exploit our young girls? How would he respond to drugging our young boys and confusing them about their gender?
Let’s take a look at how Jesus’ warning to those who would lead children astray:
Mark 9:42-48
“But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea. If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than to have two hands and go into hell, into the unquenchable fire. If your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell, And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, where ‘their worm never dies, and the fire is never quenched.’”
These are harsh words. Jesus says if anyone leads children to stumble; that it would be better for them to be drown in the darkest depth of the sea but yet these words are lost in our culture. Now, imagine how Jesus would respond to people who support murder of unborn babies and convince our young people to get chemically castrated.
Can any Christian read a passage like this and think God is pleased with what is happening? Does any Christian really believe God is looking down from heaven and smiling approvingly as women take the lives of the very children He say’s are blessings? The very children He knew BEFORE He formed them in the womb? Do you think He is happy with people who are fundamentally perverting His creation and confusing His children about their sex?
No. He’s not. I often think of Jesus chasing out the money changers and when judgment comes, that is going to seem mild in comparison. We often hear of God’s love but part of love also means judging what is evil. And make no mistake; what our culture is doing is evil. A culture that has lost its moral compass is marked for Judgment. We are to be a society; a people who judge rightly. We judge by God’s standard of love and His standard of Love is His Commandments.
We can expect that Jesus will respond viscerally to those who lead His children counter to what His own word says. If you have an doubts, I challenge you to read the prophets, read Jesus’s own words and Read Revelations. God always brings judgment to unrepentant people and in the end He will exact final judgment over all of humanity and I pray you are not on the other side of that Judgment.
Until that time comes; we are faced with unimaginable evil and it’s our children who are paying the price for our apathy. They are paying the price for our cowardice and the time for complacency is over. We have to stand for righteousness as the world grows increasingly evil. We not only have a responsibility to our little ones but we will have to give an account to the God of the universe one day for for everything we’ve done and everything we failed to do.
I do not want to stand before God knowing I turned a blind-eye to what was happening to His children. I do not want to live knowing I ignored the slaughter of unborn babies in abortion clinics. I don’t want to play “Church” as radical gender theory is confusing kids to the point where it causes irreversible damage. I don’t want to sit by idly as the world claims to minds and souls of our children.
Our compassion for the children who are caught in the crosshairs of this woke madness should move us to action. We should stop giving our money to companies that blatantly support agendas that harm our kids. We should protest the slaughter of the unborn at every turn. We should get involved in school boards and stop the indoctrination of our children with radical gender ideology.
Now, more than ever, we need Christians who are willing to be bold for His Gospel. We need Christians who fear God and are unwilling to shrink back because someone said mean things to them on the internet. We need Christians who have righteous anger against the evil that is leading our kids astray. There is too much at stake. Our children do not deserve to pay the price for our apathy.
